I suppose you all are right, it's tough to swallow the price tag of the 5dIII, I just need to get that out of my head LOL.

I have to tell you shooting at ISO 10,000 I did not really see "night and day" difference between the 7D MarkIIand the 5D Mark III.
But with shooting a karate tournament indoors I have a little trouble getting back far enough to not cut off the competitors feet.
I normally shoot kids soccer with my 7D and a 70 to 200 lens. The "too close" is why I rented the 5Dmkiii. Then there is the crop factor? I have a 70-200 on my t3I that is many times "too close" whereas on the 5dIII it seems as though it would provide a better range (at least for my use).Īnyways, love to hear from more of you on this subject especially those of you like the OP that have tested it real life. I imagine a blurry shot with no noise is worse than a crisp shot with some noise love having a built in flash for the indoor shots too. and yes I realize that can be fixed PP but it just seems like that would end with much better IQ as there is less to play with in PP.Īlthough I hear you on the 7dII, it does have true auto ISO, anti flicker, 10 FPS, and what is said to be one of the best focusing systems. the 5dIII is so much cleaner and with less noise. I thought I was set on the 7dII for the obvious reasons however when I look at photo tests of shots, the higher ISO shots at 640 are like night and day. This is very interesting as I'm about to buy either the 7dII or the 5dIII, for indoor basketball.
